Influence of Coarse Aggregate Type on the Mechanical Strengths and Durability of Cement Concrete

In this paper, the influence of coarse aggregate on slump flow and following mechanical strengths (flexural compressive strengths), shrinkage rate, chloride penetration resistance, freeze–thaw resistance were investigated. Water–binder ratios in study 0.22, 0.30, 0.34, 0.45. Sand ratio was All samples cured for 7 d, 14 28 56 respectively. Results indicated that fluidity cement concrete with different increased order: gneiss < limestone basalt diabase. The rate obviously increasing curing age when ranged from days to days. However, trended a stable value diabase gneiss. Meanwhile, demonstrated trend development: cycles decreased water–binder ratio. closely related types aggregate.
